Networks within GCTE

Networks within GCTE:
To fulfill their stated objectives, GCTE aims to identify, coordinate and synthesize international research by organizing and maintaining networks of relevant research projects. These networks consist of scientists whose research is directed towards common goals and who have agreed to share their work with other network members according to GCTE Network and Data Sharing Policy. To this end, Network members submit descriptions (metadata) of their research to help other members identify opportunities for bi- or multi-lateral collaboration. Each network is coordinated by the Network leaders who review applications to join, and who help plan network activities.

Focus 4 currently has the following networks:

Joining a GCTE Network:
Scientists who wish to join a Focus 4 Network are requested to apply to the relevant Network leaders through the Focus 4 Office. Researchers can contribute either modelling, experimental, monitoring, or a combination depending upon their work and how it addresses a Task.

An application to join a Newtork consists of two parts:

  1. A description of the work you wish to contribute: this should be submitted by email attachment, as descriptive data (metadata) in the standard format for the relevant network (download metadata forms).
  2. The signed application agreeing to abide by the terms as laid out in the GCTE Data and Model Sharing Policy.

Work is accepted into a network if the Network leaders consider the contribution as being both relevant to the network’s objective and of high scientific quality. When accepted this metadata is collated into a directory which is freely available within the network but not to non-members without permission of the original author.
