The
Kobe Harborland New Otani Hotel is located conveniently in the center
of Kobe, just across from JR Kobe Station. From Kansai International
Airport it is about 75 minutes in travel time (not counting transfer
time) by bus and train (see local transportation section below).

To
reach the Kobe Harborland New Otani Hotel from Kansai International
Airport, take the shuttle bus for Kobe (Sannomiya) from Shuttle Bus
Stop #6, which is just outside of the arrival lobby (there are also
several information desks in the airport where you can ask for assistance).
Shuttle buses depart from the airport 3-4 times every hour, with the
final one departing at 22:00. Please make sure that you buy a ticket
for the shuttle bus before you get on. A one-way shuttle bus ticket
costs 1,800 Yen (tickets can be bought at a vending machine next to
the bus stop #6). Journey time is approximately 65 minutes. From
JR Sannomiya take a train (ticket price Yen 120 – to be bought at
the vendors next to the gates) to JR Kobe station. From the station
follow the signs to the Kobe Harborland New Otani Hotel, it will take
you 2-3 minutes through the underground passage.
For
participants arriving from the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) Shin Kobe
Station take the subway (5 minutes journey time) to Sannomiya station,
then take a train from JR Sannomiya to JR Kobe station. From the station
just follow the signs to the Kobe Harborland New Otani Hotel.
WEATHER
The weather in
January is usually cool and dry. Daytime temperatures acan be expected
to be around 5-10 C.
CANCELLATIONS
Participants
who cannot attend the meetings due to unforeseeable circumstances
must notify the APN Secretariat at least three days before the planned
departure date from their home country.
